So I am using WiFi. I have tested on my phone using the mysky app. The wire from the fibre box to my hub is about 30ft. That was what they left me when they installed. The issue is where the cable comes in and the box with the lights on is on the opposite side of the room to my TV and my Puck needs a hard wire connection to the router. Im thinking I can do i buy a WiFi extender and plug the Puck into that eliminating the need for such a long cable. Do you really think it could effect the speed so drastically. The bandwidth is poor too. I get a lot of hangs and freezing websites.

I have recently had sky fibre max installed. My guaranteed speed is 40mb. So far it hasn't gone over 94mb. It has been in 2 weeks. Broadband checker says it all looks good but the speed is poor. Now the mysky app says it looks like I have an issue but when I check it says all good. What should I do?

94 Mbps sounds suspiciously like its the limitations of the ethernet cable or the pc ethernet adapter settings

Are you using wifi or ethernet

What device are you testing on

Close but no! Samsung 7300, sky Puck, Samsung m33, sky soundbar SR213 router, alexa & associated smart tech.... Sky fibre max! That's why I'm complaining. It's saying 88mb now and min should be 400.

@Kym3 the 400Mb/s guarantee applies to the speed to the hub. If you are teasting speeds using wifi it is highly likely but not certain the issue is the speed of the wifi link in your home which is covered by the speed guatantee as factors like the layout and how you home is constructed affect the speeds.

Therefore to remove that possibility ideally run tests over an Ethernet link which supports gigabit speeds. Failing that run a test over wifi innthecsame room as the hub after checking that is out in the open.

Any cat5e cable or better should work.
