My primary phone socket is in the hall but I have a secondary socket in the living room where I would like to have my router. The router connects no problem in the primary socket but won't work on the secondary one. Is it possible to have my router running on the living socket? If so do I need any additional equipment? By defaults, data is blocked (filteres) from extensions as you've found.
