Hi, I'm getting sky full fibre installed on the 17th February and I would like to have an ethernet cable go to a bedroom upstairs directly from the broadband as this is a more stable connection for gaming. I spoke to an agent on the phone who said this does not need to be pre-booked and that the engineer will be able to do this on the day as they keep cables in the van. I'm just wondering if this is actually the case as I've had a friend have an engineer come out to do this ans they had to drill a hole into the wall to bring the cable upstairs and it doesn't seem like an easy job. The agent also mentioned this wouldn't be any additional cost. Can someone please confirm for me as I would really like to have this done and I want to make sure I am being informed correctly, thank you!

Do you know how I could go about bringing the ethernet directly to the bedroom upstairs? A friend of mine had the engineer install it for them when they got their broadband but it was an additional charge as they had to bring the wire through the walls of the house.

That's a fairly simple DIY job, or one for any halfway competent handyperson: the only potentially tricky bit is crimping the cable ends correctly.

Thank you so much for your help - I had a feeling the agent was wrong so thought I'd make a post. You've been very helpful 🙂
