Hello 👋

There is no physical.tel line to the property, to signup with Sky BB what is the process to getting a physical line installed. ?

Bearer circuit installation (where required ) is part of the provisioning and booked by the ISP.

If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.

Note that a potential complication is where Openreach records indicate they think there's a 'line' but this isn't actually in place (typically removed by a previous occupant)

@TimmyBGood 👋 location is Scotland and there has never been any tel line from green box/exchange to the house. Admin cleared my pic but I've not fathomed out yet how to share/attach it. 😹 thank you

Your result appears to show there's no line from a cabinet at all: the only possible service is over ADSL2+ from a telephone exchange (now the oldest and slowest broadband technology still in use) and unfortunately the line distance means the property is on the ragged end of what ADSL can support: between one and three Mbs inbound from a possible twenty-four Mbs, and negligible outbound speed.

Is this location particular remote/rural? With that kind of result it's going to be in the bottom percentile nationally, and the broadband isn't going to be able to facilitate much functionality (although it's still better than nothing at all)

In addition, if there's never been a line and you're looking at exchange connection, that's potentially a really major job involving up to five kilometres of cable. While Openreach ultimately has an obligation to provide a service, I'd imagine there would be considerable delay.

With a range of 1-3Mbps no responsible provider would supply a service that slow, as it's below any recommended minimum line speed, prob why there is not a line already present

That's an interesting point: the Universal Service Obligation would apply though, and the USO ISP is BT Broadband. I imagine they might say only non-terrestrial connection is viable.
