powerline works fine with the mini boxes as well as the main box. The Mesh system was hopeless so I changed to powerline and it is great now.

I have Sky Q which is located a few rooms away from where my Sky Fibre 500MB comes in.

In the past I have setup a TP Link Deco X20 mesh for internet across my house which is great - there are 3 access points 😕 extenders, and everything is wonderful except the Sky Q box - which kept disconnecting from the WiFi.

i should add it's not possible for me to run a physical Ethernet from the router to the Sky Q box.

my question is can anyone recommend :

1. A Mesh WiFi setup for the home which actually works with Sky Q

2. Given the limitations I am planning on using my Deco X20 for everything but then with a Powerlone adapter of some sort for the specific purpose of serving the Sky Q box - any recommendations?

thanks for any guidance or advice!

@storeyboy10 Sky Q is designed to work with its own mesh network. While the main Sky Q box can be connected to third party wifi the Q mini boxes can't. You can however network any Q box by ethernet whether directly, via one of yourDeco satellites or via a set of powerline adapters. I used powerline myself when I had Sky Q and although Sky do not recommend the technology themselves as results vary from property to property ttey worked well in my home.

If you have a single Q box it is worth experimenting with powerline as if bought online you have 14 days to return them if they don't work . Powerline adapters normally come in kits with the cables. One is plugged into a wall socket near your Sky hub and linked by an Ethernet lead from the kit. The other connects to the Q box in a similar arrangement. Don't use trailing adapters as they can affect speed and plan on getting 20 to 30% of the speed rating of the adapter. Turn off the Q box's wifii by going into the hidden engineers menu accessed by navigating to Settings but entering 0,0,1 on the remote before select.
