Hello, i have problem with speed, because we have router downstairs in caboard, rooms is upstairs, so we have already sky boost pod, but on upstairs speed is around 30-40mbs, then near to wifi router is 600mbs, so we need better wifi booster because a speed is too low for us

@Marcin6 first point move the hub out of the cupboard you may need a longer ethernetvcable to connect the unit to the ONT but the cupboard will be part of your issue. The pod should be installed midway between the hub and where you need the boost typically in 2 stoey home the hall or upstairs landing are good positions.

In praxtice few if any apps van use much more than 100Mb/s let alone need more. Sky will supply additional pods if speeds in any room is lower than 25Mb/s as measured by one of their engineers. However if you want high speed through out your home it is worth buying your own system and using that instead of the Sky Hub's WiFi.

We are unable to place the WiFi router outside of the cupboard because it is located downstairs near the OTS, which is positioned by the front door. Our flat is located upstairs, and the first room is about 3 meters away due to the high staircase.

Previously, we had internet with BT, which provided us with a second WiFi Disc that guaranteed a strong and fast internet connection. Unfortunately, we switched to Sky due to their more competitive pricing. However, the "booster pod" they provided does not guarantee high speeds, and we are very dissatisfied with the service.

So, we are using the Max Pod, which doesn’t change much apart from the fact that we at least have a WiFi connection – without it, we wouldn’t have any connection at all. However, our speed is only around 20-30 Mbps, which is unacceptable in today’s world of fibre internet.

Please provide the fastest possible solution to this issue, as I might as well pay for a 50 Mbps package rather than the 600 or 900 Mbps plan I currently have.

Previously, we had BT Halo 3 with a WiFi Disc and never experienced this kind of problem. In all the rooms, we consistently had internet speeds of around 400-500 Mbps.

You aren't talking to Sky by posting here: neither @Chrisee or myself can provide you with anything other than advice and opinions.

The 'fastest possible solution' is always ethernet cable with gigabit switches. A third party mesh, preferably WiFi 6 or better, will almost certainly be more effective than the necessarily limited options an ISP can provide.

Many forum users have posted that their Sky Max hardware performs less well in their properties than previous BT hardware has done: I have a Smart Hub 2 with one Whole Home disk myself.
