    <description>&lt;P&gt;We are struggling with good WiFi connection upstairs, I've fitted 2 WiFi sockets upstairs which one is above the room where the modem is located and it's not connecting.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've been told by a broadband engineer that they should connect especially as it's in the room above.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;We thought that it we went full fibre we'd have a better connections but this is not the case.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Looking forward to your reply and solutions many thanks Nigel Eyre&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I'd suggest that while those are neat little devices their performance is going to be inherently hampered by their form-factor, their location embedded in a wall (particularly if in a metal back-box) and their proximity to mains cabling.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I suspect they aren't using Powerline networking for backhaul, which would be preferable to WiFi.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I'd also note they are &lt;A href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11n-2009" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;802.11n&lt;/A&gt; ( 'WiFi 4', so a fifteen year old wireless standard) and suspiciously cheap on the Screwfix site.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The manufacture appears to specify a maximum range and significantly caveats their performance in the product description, which is unusual.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
