topic Replacement Hub 4.2 received in Broadband

I received a phone call from sky advising of a fault ( i was unaware of this) as both hubs had all lights illuminated. Open reach were dealing with the problem. 2 days later open reach arrived on my doorstep! 2 days later I received a replacement Hub 4.2

The replacement hub arrived with a microfilter (currently not using one) and router cable , which is about 4 meters too short.

I connected the new hub ( not using the new

microfilter or router cable) and had no Internet! So I've reconnected the original hub and everything is fine!.

My question is are the (lack of using ) the microfilter & new router cable cause of this problem or is the 'new' hub faulty?

@niniancentral

It maybe that the new router needs to settle on the line with DLM adjusting the line to sort it out and match it with the broadband line and router chipset characteristics if after leaving the router connected for a couple of hours it doesn't connect then the new router is likely faulty.
