Sky max hub pods

I've got a Sky Max Hub, although I don't have the Sky Wifi Max service (Just Full Fibre 300). I have 1 room in the house with very weak internet (computers can connect to it but not phones). This is because the room sits behind a 75cm thick granite wall. Id like to get a Sky max pod to deliver reliable internet to this room. Is there any way of buying one without having the Sky WiFi Max service? Or should I buy a different mesh Wifi router and hope it is compatible with the Sky fibre/Wifi system?

No, and realistically a single pod is going to do absolutely nothing to get a signal through three quarters of a metre of solid stone...

Note that even if you see a Max pod on sale somewhere (which shouldn't be the case, as they are only loaned by Sky) it won't work without the Max subscription supplement.

I suspect you'll need to look at either Powerline networking, or a staggered multi-node mesh which routes signal up through a ceiling and then down again. You really wouldn't want to share living space with a wireless system capable of putting microwaves through a wall like that.

I was thinking of running an ethernet from the Sky max pod through the granite wall (via a downstairs doorway) and connecting it to a mesh node there. It would be directly underneath the room that currently has weak internet. I was thinking that this would provide stronger internet in the upstairs room (as only has to travel through flppr/ceiling). Does this sound feasible?

@Allnew do you have a 75cm thick stone wall in your home? No WiFi router will cope with that as all have strictly regulated output power. Sky hubs may not be the best wifi router but the laws of Physics are the limitation here.
