Note that if the Hub has arrived in advance of an activation date (as is typical) and there's scheduled to be an installation of FTTP infrastructure then it isn't going to work yet.

The phone cable isn't long enough to reach the socket and the fitting on my phone line doesn't match

If you are new to sky superfast or fttp in all likliehood the phone socket is on the back of the sky router
