Apparently the key when setting up Q with a Max Hub is to use the non-Sky router option.

Press Home on your Sky Q remote, then go to Settings followed by Setup.

Select Network and then select Reset.

Wait for the Sky Q box to check your network, then select Confirm.

Once its complete, choose Connect to WiFi from another broadband provider. Follow the on-screen instructions to find your WiFi network and enter your password.

Just installed Sky max as wanted an extra boost signal in the bedrooms and this was what was recommended.....and unbelievably the new sky max doesn't work with my sky Q. What a shambles of company

Ive been with sky for over 20 years and they have brought out new technology that doesn't work with their own equipment.
already had an engineer out who fixed it for a day and now back to not working.
The main box won't connect to the router therefore my mini box doesn't work.
After over 20 years with Sky I've binned them as broadband provider and if the new ee router doesn't work with the sky Q box I'm going Ditch the TV package.

and unbelievably the new sky max doesn't work with my sky Q. What a shambles of company

Ive been with sky for over 20 years and they have brought out new technology that doesn't work with their own equipment.

Max definitely works with Q, although it doesn't have the now rather antique built-in Q mesh technology of previous generations of Hub.

Sky has been distributing the Max Hub since the summer of 2023 and it's now their default router hardware: it would be a really bad business move (and there would be rather more posts here) if it was actually incompatible with Q television.

There used to be a restriction on ordering Max at addresses with Q, and then with more than one Mini box, but that has now been lifted
