topic WiFi speed in Broadband

Since upgrading to the (rather expensive) gigafast internet service our speeds have been awful - in fact worse than before.

We are paying for 900 and the highest I've had on a Speedtest is 400 - but on average less than 100. Internet constantly crashes - as I type this I'm on 5G because despite the sky app telling me "everything is fine" I can't connect to wifi. q boxes will not connect to apps, speeds are slow enough that I'm getting buffering on Netflix, never had that before.
why would your sky app say everything is fine when it clearly isn't?
really not happy with the new service.
I hope you can help in repairing this.

@TheLees what colour hub do you have? If as I suspect it is the white Sky Max hub you need to be aware that unlike the older black hubs it is not compatable with the Sky Q wifi mesh and you lose the wifi hotspots the TV boxes provided.. The new hub only connects to the main Q box by wifi any Sky Q mini boxes connectvto a closed 5GHz signal produced by the main Q box not to the hub.

If you have Sky Q boxes which are not connecting then call Sky as they havecto fix thst either by supplying a.Sky Q booster or by sending an engineer. However that wont help your other devices so you msy nedd to extend tge WiFi signal from the Sky Max hub by either paying for Sky's WiFi Max add-on see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or by buying a third party system.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

we have the black Q boxes. Oddly enough after resetting it about 10 times over the last few days the reset I did just now worked.

I will give still give Sky a call.
