I've just placed an order to upgrade my SR203 hub with the WiFi Max hub (possibly to regret, based on a lot of comments on here..)

I don't have a landline, and my SR203 has only ever been connected to the Openreach ONT via ethernet.

When the WiFi Max hub arrives, will I just need to duplicate the inputs as they are currently (3 ethernet cables in, plus the power cable)?

I'm seeing a stack of posts regarding the phone line connection, which is confusing this old duffer..!

The cables connected to your current SR203 hub should swap over like-for-like, 1:1 with your new Sky Max hub. Reconnect your WiFi devices and you should be good to go.

Sky's WiFi Max hub setup help page is at https://www.sky.com/help/home/broadband/sky-broadband-equipment/sky-hub/setting-up-my-sky-hub/articles/set-up-hub-max-hub-do-you-have-internet-calls and also includes How To videos.

@Solfer

'Landline' is somewhat obsolete terminology these days: in an increasing percentage of properties there's a data circuit for broadband (optical in this case, copper in others) which also carries a voice over IP service that the resident can choose to make use of or not by plugging an analogue handset into the router.

The default voice service has no additional cost as long as outgoing calls aren't made but what's somewhat inaccurately termed the 'line rental' in paper billing actually covers the wholesale circuit provision.

Thanks. I wouldn't have known it's obsolete terminology as I've never needed to ask any questions about it since before it became obsolete 😉
