I've been looking at gaming routers. Do they work? Most are really expensive and I don't really want to have to pay that much for something I believe should be working anyway!

do you recommend a certain gaming router?

cheers for the help.

In general, I have a really good connection and my mbps is usually below 20, however when I'm gaming, I get really bad lag spikes and it shoots up to around 160+ for a few seconds. I can't connect an Ethernet cable direct, but I have tried wifi boosters and TP Links etc, and nothing seems to fix it. Is there anything I can do to stop the lag spikes?

Cant say for sure if something will work as it depends on local conditions. You may want to purchase the router from a place that has a good return policy so you have time to try it out.
