More than likely a dry joint on a connection on the line to the premises, and this the engineer should be able to find and solve quite easily in less than a couple of hours. It is quite a common fault by all accounts, and is a better position to be than an intermitent fault that can take weeks to solve.

My copper line broadband and telephone line were reinstated by openreach on Monday. All worked fine until yesterday pm but now I have no broadband and no telephone (the line is silent). An engineer is booked to come out on Tuesday but has anyone else had this - it's like the line has been switched off only I've obly just taken out a new contract for superfast broadband
