Yes, having exactly the same issue as you. Our internet went down overnight last night and was still down when I got home from work.

Everything on sky.com says there are no issues, a call to Sky said it was a problem with the equipment in my house and that I would need an engineer visit (next Tuesday supposedly being the next available appointment).

Since changing DNS on my phone and Apple TV to manual and selecting 8.8.8.8 I can now connect to the internet on these devices. Clearly it's a Sky problem, I wonder why they won't own up to the fact.

Sky DNS Issue?

We are unable to use the Internet using our Sky Broadband when using the Sky DNS Servers via the Sky Router.

Setting the DNS Server on the laptop directly to those used by Google e.g. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. everything works as it should.

However it is not possible to change the DNS setup on the Sky Router.

All of the sky diagnostic tools say that everything is working as it should, however no devices cannot use the internet, without changing the DNS settings manually on the device to use other DNS settings like Google (as above).

Is anyone else having this issue?

@Gothicmarble the issue is normally caused by an issue with the server managing your connection another symptom is the voice light going amber, the servers get fixed but its a pain if the unit serving your area has some dodgy nodes until Sky can get out to fix it. Adding a public DNS address to your drvices network set up is sensible work round.

Sky hubs require a fixed DNS to enable the Broadband Shield to function properly.
