Sure! Unfortunately it's already 1 month that I'm waiting for the activation. So this is false advertising ! Today I cancel my order. Shame on you sky/Openreach

Ok sure

Well they are not activating my internet because they don't have the right hardware available. Their words So beside the semantic it's not broadband is not available now! Or maybe the telecom world is outside basic logic ?

@Ivanpecos there can be delays in connecting a propperty to the fibre infrastructure that is in the road. There are multiple potential causes but the fact you could place an order means the service is "available" and so the ad is unlikely to be found to be misleading. However you can complain to the ASA if you want https://www.asa.org.uk/make-a-complaint.html

No idea what the hold up is on your specific order but sometimes there can be unforseen issues like a blocked duct or a tree blocking an overhead feed. These sometimes require specialist teams or if a road neds digging up a permit granted by the council or permission is required from a land owner the feed has to cross, these are not intentional but happen never the less.

Also errors get made and things go wrong Openreach are installing many tens of thousands of these connections each month in a small percentage of cases things go wrong. None of that is good news for those people affected but in the real world not everything goes to plan.

Alternative wording ('not yet available' or 'not activated' for example) wouldn't exactly encourage orders...

Something like 'Available to order' or 'Ready to order' would be more accurate, but as I noted above, historically the ASA has permitted all ISPs (and Openreach themselves) to use 'available', meaning FTTP infrastructure has been deployed to street level. This is automatically populated from a database and based on Openreach technical records.

Just to add to a comedy that is transforming into a tragedy.

I cancelled the SKY order because the internet was NOT AVAILABLE via chat and via WhatsApp

The operator said. "it's all good, cancelled"

14 days later. The order is not canceled and SKY keeps informing about the delay ( now reaching 2 months)

Is this company a joke?
