topic WIFI booster flashing lights! in Broadband

Not long with Sky, nothing but trouble from the start. I was changed from the black router to the white one and sold wifi max, as my wifi was dropping out all the time, still the same problems. Sky sent out a wifi pod, plugged it in, connected for 5 seconds them starts flashing no connection. Has anyone else the same problem? Is there a solution apart from the family setting up all our equiptment in the living room beside the router?

A 'booster' can only function where it's receiving adequate signal itself: that's why they are best located halfway between router and client devices. Putting a booster into a location without existing WiFi cannot work.

It may be worth trying the pairing in the same room as the Hub, and then progressively move it further away.

Thanks Timmy, Ive tried this and the booster keeps flashing and wont connect. Ive read on the forum, boosters might have to be registered to your account, I dont think this would be true but is it?

@DavyAD the pods should be listed in the My Sky app under My Devices and can be set up from there. See https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-booster-setup-max-pod ocasionally the pods can take a while to update their firmware but the light should flash for a couple of minutes then go out.

If the pods are not listed Insuspect they wont link to your Sky Max hub but dont know thst for certain butvas the system uses a 5GHz signal to link the range isnt great if you have solid internal walls.
