Suggests you may be using a poor quality ethernet cable that the Sky hub cant negotiate with. Have you tried using another cable thats Cat5e or above?

Hello,

Got an issue with router Ethernet connection. Basically trying to crate an access point upstairs but after connecting router to an Ethernet port I can get any lan connection upstairs. If I connect laptop through Ethernet port directly than it works fine, which indicates that there is a problem with capable, however I've got another broadband in the house from Hyperoptics which works fine if I connect it to the house Ethernet, what makes me very confused how come router shares the lan through the cable directly to pc but not to house Ethernet....
