We have had sky broadband installed in our house and the plug is making a high pitched humming noise

We have had sky broadband installed in our house last week and the plug is making a high pitched humming noise which carries throughout the house. Is this normal and how do we get rid of the noise as it is giving us a headache.

Some transformers can make this kind of noise as its electrical coil whine. I haven't seen this reported before on the Sky forum though, have you tried plugging it into a surge protector?

I have the same issue with my new sky hub. It's very annoying !!!!! I won't be renewing my contract with sky as this noise is becoming unbearable. I've never had this with other routers/hubs by other service providers.

I have exactly the same issue and it's very, very annoying. I'm switching back to EE Broadband soon just to get another router and a plug that doesn't make this awful high pitched noise.
It is the plug to the router that makes this high pitched squeal and it is now unbearable. Sky really should get this plug changed or at least acknowledge there is a problem with it.

Have you actually tried contacting Sky support by phone to request a replacement yet? All electronic components have issues from time to time...
