Hi, I know everyone has probably asked this and answered it before. I used to work in Virgin so I know abit about the process off good will gestures. With my broad being over 5 weeks delayed due to a 3rd party obviously I know Sky cannot do anything or myself but they did put on the kids channels for free for me. Now approaching 6 weeks I think it's only fair they might do a good will gesture even though it's not their fault but in Virgin customer service we always did. Sales agents can't do anything but when I asked to go to customer service/loyalty/cancellations the agent gave me the kids for free for 2 months and waived a 60 once off charge about 2 weeks ago. I have the full package everything sports movies etc. Now it's been another 2 weeks heading towards 6 weeks, surely Sky as a company will help me out with some form off good will gesture 15 years a Sky customer and technically a new account at this address they set it up as. What does everyone think on this subject?

You will get compensated once the broadband has been provisioned as a result of the delay as Sky is signed up to OFCOMs voluntary compensation scheme

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation

@Luke+Samuel most customers are UK based so advice in the forum tends to assume that UK rules apply. The customer compensation scheme is mandated by Ofcom and the money is normally paid by Openreach the UK network provider where activation is delayed. It would therefore not normally apply to Ireland as tge network providers are different but this page implies it does as it has an Irish flag at the bottom https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation

I will ask the forum managers to check if this is an error and what the correct answer is.

Auto-compensation in the UK is a voluntary scheme under Ofcom oversight, so that probably wouldn't apply in RoI (where ComReg is the appropriate body)

I guess any ISP could choose to operate something similar there.

Presumably Sky should be listing the relevant payments in Euros if there was such a thing, but those are set by Ofcom so again wouldn't necessarily carry over.
