topic No internet- do i need an engineer? in Broadband

I joined sky broadband activated on 13th. There was a mess up with sending me a router and so I didn't have a sky router for the activation date. Even though Sky said it wouldn't work we continued to get Internet through the Vodafone router with the signal dropping in and out but I could stream with it. I have broadband boost and I got a message to say there was a fault on the line and an engineer would be sent to an external fault.Shortly after the engineer had been my wifi stopped working altogether. I borrowed an old sky router from a friend model ER115 but I get power and WiFi light but no internet. I then received a message to say that I need to book an engineer for an internal visit. After a LOT of phonecalls they are sending me a broadband hub but not yet dispatched. So my question is do I need to book an engineer or is it saying there's a fault as I don't yet have the correct router? Any help would be gratefully received as two kids without WiFi in the school holidays is not pleasant!

It sounds like Openreach think there is an issue with your line which msybe the master socket that needs sorting.before your new services will work.
