I have a red alrm light on my open reach fibre box. I have been told this may clear after a few days however having read other peoples problems with this. I get the feeling I am being fobbed off. Has anyone else been able to resolve this issue?

Which ont do you have?

Alarm can mean a few things from backup battery unit depleted to firmware update failure.

Are you able to remove the front bit of the ont to see which light is red?

The alarm led indicates it failed a firmware update. People have posted saying everything runs as normal, others have said they turned off over night. When they turned it back on, the alarm light had gone and everything was fine.
