Hi, thank you for replying, I,m trying not to, but as someone who's always been pretty tech savvy, it's a shock, and very scary. I don't think I gave any details, he seemed to already have some comprehensive details , and I was waiting to hear from Sky about internet speed, so before I knew it, I'd allowed the download, and he was in control of the phone. I eventually managed to shut the phone off, and it will be staying off. The only good thing is that I have another phone, where everything important is on biometric sign in. Thanks again for your help, is there anything else I should be doing?

Had a call on the landline, supposed to be from Sky re my internet speed. I was actually waiting to hear from Sky about that exact thing, so I fell for it hook line and sinker. It was only after he'd taken control of my phone that I realised what was going on, and tried to turn off my mobile. Much swearing and shouting ensued, he made various threats , including telling me he knew about my Virgin credit card, and eventually hung up. I immediately phoned my bank and they cancelled all my cards, and placed a watch on all my accounts. I have another phone,so I have switched to using that, and I'm removing the old mobile number from anyone I deal with. Can't believe I fell for it, I feel physically ill, and of course I can't even keep a check on my bank account until I receive my new cards and passcode for internet banking! Sorry for the long rant, please be careful everyone.

Don't beat yourself up about this as this does happen I'm afraid and you will not be the last to fall for such scams.

Apart from your financial details did you give them any other details, including any access to your Sky account or emails ?

Sky has an article here with help and advice:
