Sky ultrafast + router

Hi so I have ultrafast + broadband

and the standard black router

but I see the deal is advertised with the white router .

but also I see the white is now getting advertised as an additional option as sky max ?
surely I should have the white router as standard ?
also does it actually make a difference?
I always have Wi-Fi issues have done for over 10 yrs and still only have 1 booster by sky tech team

looking for help please

but sky say that they can't supply white one as exchange does not have capability for the software

but I'm on full fibre which I am certain

it comes from exchange to a junction box in our street then comes into our house

open reach advertise double the speeds sky give me and a direct feed from exchange to house

I'm really on the fence hear an I contact openrrsch and ask the question as I am not sure if sky is telling me pack of lies

which I hope they are not I mean I have been with them for over 25 yrs

@grant+wilkes If you are looking to get the new Max router then you will have to pay for the max subscription. How long have you had the Sky broadband hub for. Where do you have it in the property?

Sky advertise this router with sky ultafast +

If you check the internet

so I don't see why I need to pay for it

also advised by sky that my exchange is not capable to handle the new hub because of its up to date software that is why I have this black router and sky boost

just not sure if this is true or not as my next door neighbour has fibre through virgin

which is double the speed and cheaper than sky.
I don't like changing providers I'm really on the fence

it's mostly my Wi-Fi internet that gives me issues

so suppose not really the main line anyway

I have had it in few areas now but no difference really

it's 1 foot from my openreach outlet

but it's where sky tech put it

everywhere they tell you to

next to phone line , window , radiator

To clarify: the white Max Hub has recently become the default hardware issues to new Ultrafast (FTTP) subscribers. It wasn't for about the first couple of years Sky offered Ultrafast, and isn't currently available as an upgrade except through subscription to the additional monthly cost WiFi Max service.

It's also not offered where the subscription address has Q television with more than one Q Mini box or one Q booster.

'Exchange software' sounds like a misunderstanding based on the Max Hubs use of Map-T IPv4 network translation.

yes I have sky q with I upstairs mini box and 1 booster in one bedroom

man's even the Xbox hard wired from booster speed is around 300 on a really good day

other bedroom has no booster and speeds around 90 to 100

but when playing COD. It's far too slow and I get freezing and images on screen take too long to load up on gameplay

hope that makes sense

we all game in our house so really need good stable speeds

and I am not really getting that unfortunately so yeah

looking to even get someone in to yard wire full house if that's my only option

My understanding is that would currently cause the Sky system to flag Max as unavailable at the address, which some support staff are interpreting as a regional unavailability (which it isn't)

@grant+wilkes you msy well be better off with the current hub4 which is fully compatable with Q boxes. The new white hub 6 isnt so you lose the use wifi hot spots the Sky boxes and your current booster produce for your other devices so reducing the wifi coverage. .

I might just get sky to put in another booster in second bedroom to get better wifi signal
