Apps wont make secure connection.

I'm new to Sky broadband (3 months) and thunk there might be something wrong with my router. When my phone connects to wifi and I open some apps, it won't make a connection or it takes an inordinate amount of time. When I disconnect and use data, it connects straight away. I then reconnect to the wifi and it will then sometimes make the connection.

I have turned shield off entirely, so it's not this, and have all the factory default settings in place. The only change I have made is to hide the SSID.

This is infuriating! Is this a problem with the router that can be remedied by getting a new one?

Do you have Apple devices? If so try disabling iCloud relay

Could you try with an ethernet connected device if possible?

All the apps are on my phone, I don't have a USB C to ethernet connector.
