I guess it's possible that a new build might also require attendance if there's an issue with the record Openreach has of the ONT serial number.

Openreach engineer or remote?

Hi all

I'm moving to a new build property on 9th August and I've ordered sky fibre. I was advised on phone we had all at place at property for remote activation so no visit needed.

Today I had a text advising openreach would visit on the 9th between 8 and 1 to connect the line. Despite me having an email from sky to confirm remote activation.

I rang sky who didn't really seem to understand the text re the visit- and said it would be set up remotely.

I've tried to look on my account to clarify the details of my order and the potential visit but nothing is showing.

Are open reach visiting or not? I need to know for sure as a visit that day between 8-1 won't work as we won't have keys that early and I can't seem to do anything to change or confirm this properly due to the order not showing on website.

If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.

Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

'ONT exists with active service' should indicate no installer attendance is required, unless perhaps Openreach has some reason to check or swap out the ONT itself.

Could you confirm that there's an Openreach ONT in place at the address?

This would be a white wall mounted box, with an Openreach logo, a power supply and lit LEDs.

Sky on phone said no engineer needed. So all a bit confusing!
