Hi all,

So today we got Sky Broadband installed in the new house. Currently we have VM at the old house, and an Asus RT-AX82U Router.

I understand or so I am told, the Sky router can not be put into Modem mode, and everything, all our smart devices, are already set up with the Asus Router, I really don't want to have to reset everything as its a total ballache (20+ devices!)

How can I connect my Asus Router to the Sky Broadband router for it to work? I'll be using both Wifi and LAN.

Cheers!

That's correct: no model of Sky Hub has ever had such functionality. It's inherent to Virgin as a cable company, but isn't found on any mainstream Openreach domestic ISP hardware.

@MrGrim you have two choices first use your Asus router behind tge Sky hub is a double NAT setup which works for most apps. However turn off the Wifi on your new hub. The second method depends on the service you are getting from Sky if you get full fibre the Asus can work connected directly to the ONT if you sesrch thecforum you will see how to set it up but you lose the Sky voice line in thst set up.

We just have ADSL, but won't use the landline regardless anyway.

Not sure how to set up a double NAT so this should be entertaining...!

Double NAT is what happens by default. It's not particularly relevant to anyone except avid gamers, which I suspect you aren't doing an ADSL ; )

I'm doing exactly that on my Virgin Media 1gbit! Sadly can only get ADSL at the new property!

Actually yeah, I am running an open NAT, so I guess its not going to be too hard to set up, famous last words!
