WiFi 6 uses both bands simultaenously. The pods connect to the hub using a third signal as the system is tri-band.

I have connected my Max Pod to the Hub, but only my Apple Watch will connect to the Pod, everything else is on the Hub!

I have checked with a WiFi scanner placed near to my HomePod Mini's and the Max Pod reads RSSI -58dBm, whilst the Hub reads RSSI -78dBm.

Tried restarting the Hompods and my iPhone, turned WiFi off on iPhone etc, but they still connect to the Hub and report a Poor signal!

Any suggestions?

In theory the server-side optimisation built into the Plume mesh will now be taking place, but that may take some time.

Thanks, I'll give it a couple of days.

Also noticed that 2.4 ghz signal is much better to my HomePod Minis, is there any way to force them to use 2.4 instead of 5 ghz? Was wondering if I could use Mac Filtering to deny them access to 5 ghz!

Last night still nothing had connected to the pod, so I tried changing the security back to WPA3-T (I set it up originally as WPA3), re-connected everything and within 30 minutes everything was connecting to pod/hub as I expected.

Is this a red herring? Or does it need to be WPA3? All my devices new and work on WPA3.

I'd think it's quite possible that's a factor: I believe Max pods are specified to WiFi 5 rather than the WiFi 6 of the Max Hub, so WPA3 support could be an issue.
