Upgrading Broadband - old copper wire connection

Hello

I don't have fibre connection into the house.

I am looking to upgrade broadband speed as multiple people working from home is creating issues. Currently have Sky Broadband Superfast.

Any quick options?

If Openreach FTTP is available at the address then ordering an Ultrafast broadband service from any Openreach ISP does the trick.

If there's no Openreach optical infrastructure in the area yet then that's simply not possible: their target to reach all commercially viable addresses is the end of 2026.

Putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which provisioning type is applicable.

@Joeha if you only have a copper connection in your road you will not have any other options from Sky until Openreach install the fibre cabelling you can check their plans here https://www.openreach.com/fibre-checker by entering your post code.

if you have mutiple people w orking you may want to look at buying a mobile broadband service which need not be prohibitively expensive. This would lighten the load on the Sky connection and provide a fall back for when the fixed line is down and vice versa. It would ge difficult to have a single connection - you would need a specialist router and good network knowledge to set that up but otherwise just attach some devices to each router.
