If your using Wifi this kind of fluctuation can be quite normal in high interference settings. If your gaming on a PC you should really be using ethernet or at least powerline

As the title states, spoke to sky about it but they say it's my devices. I have fiber broadband in a new build. I started out with GrainConnect and I was getting 1Gbps up/down and then my contract with sky took over and then the problems began.

Anybody else encountered these problems?

@Cloudwarrior Where is the router located and is the unit black or white? The white Sky Max hub that new fibre customers are starting to receive is a modern unit which potentially can deliver much higher Wifi 6 speeds but can exhibit instability in some circumstances. It is designed to operate automatically and does nor respond to manual intervention well so for example you cannot manually select channels or split the wifi bands. In my own experience it requires a few days to optimise if left alone. .

Developers of new properties will insist on fitting the line entry points in a comms cupboard or room which is just about tgecworst placecfor a wifi router hence the question about location.

It's a black hub, when they first introduced the "new hub". However, because I do not have a copper cable running to my property and it's all fiber optics, I rang up and said "how do I connect this hub to the internet" to my surprise, which I was not, they said plug it into the socket that says telephone... smh, this is what people are dealing with? Misinformation.

Also, my socket and hub are located in the furthest reach of the house, living room outer corner. My pc, which is a dedicated gaming pc, is directly above it.

That is about all I can give atm.
