Hi, cananyone tell me how I can make my sky sockets more streamline please.

They have been hidden by a cupboard since installation 20 plus years ago but now will be seen and are a eyesore. Thanks

If FTTP is available, all such sockets become obsolete.

If not, a microfilter on a flexible lead may be preferable, or you could request the fitting of a prefiltered master socket faceplate.

That middle doubler socket isn't anything to do with broadband or an ISP.

Note that legally an electrician shouldn't be touching the public side of the master phone socket at an address: they can do extension wiring though.

If your property is upgraded to FTTP broadband at some point, all such cabling and sockets become obsolete.

Potentially Sky can book work at the master socket, for which there's a charge if there's no broadband fault at the address.

This work involves the master socket only: they won't touch that extension socket, loose extension wires, holes in walls etc (except perhaps to disconnect them entirely)

It's important to understand that the legal responsibility and remit of both Openreach and the ISP ends at the master socket, in the same way that an electricity supplier is responsible up to the meter, and gas/water suppliers to the stopcock.

However, if Sky said that FTTP is available at the address, all that old copper cabling and associated sockets could be safely removed entirely once the new optical connection is in place.

As I mentioned, they can 'solve' the master socket by replacing it with a modern unit. It would be up to you to deal with the rest of the legacy infrastructure.
