I have Sky Ultrafast Plus in my workroom, which connects via Ethernet to my work laptop. Over in the living room I use wifi to connect to my PS5. I have found that the connection strength is quite low, even if the wifi is generally fine.

I wanted to use Powerline to extend the Ethernet connection but the living room is not on the same electrical circuit.

This leaves me with a lot of cables running through the house, or outside and back in.

What would be the best approach here?

I have heard that I can have a second access point fitted, but don't know the costs or hassle involved. Would I need an engineer to do this?

Thanks.

Ooo. That is interesting, thank you. I had used a lamp to test whether they were on the same circuit and they were not. I didn't know that they just needed to be on the same meter.
