i have fttc and i have reset the router on sunday iv reset the network on my sky q box and updated the software ect but its showing all good with wifi ect on the app but thats what i get when i look online on the website may i ask why i cant see the info too please

any advice and help and if cant help may i ask to have it raised to sky please and help and advice will be very appreciated and grateful:) :

Your stats suggest there isn't a line problem so the line running through the tress is a non issue.

What exactly is the problem you are experiencing?

@jamesn123 i was getting low speed and high noise margin and openreach came out and increased my speed and im on a 40/10 but only getting 37.5 and he tested it but it came back ok but he said the fault might not be showing at that time and he said he contact sky to have the router replaced as he thinks its to fault but its only under 1 yrs old if need any more info i can give more 🙂 😄

I am confused, is 37.5mbps under your guaranteed minimum? If not then there is no fault.

Its completely normal to lose 5-10% of your sync speed when running a speedtest due to network overheads. So if your line speed is showing as 40/10 then a speedtest of anything above 37mbps down & 9mbps up would be considered normal.

To be quite honest, looking at your lines margins, I dont see why you couldnt achieve more than 40mbps. Did you specifically go for the Superfast 35 package or are you on a Social Tariff? If not you should be able to get onto the 'Up to 80mbps' package.

@jamesn123hi i went to fttc (superfast )before they brought out the superfast 35but they decided to put me on the superfast 35 as i went to (superfast in 2020) during lockdown so i had to tell openreach man that what was happing at router ectso not my choice to move to the (superfast35) and i had open reach out the other day and he brought my line speed to 40/10 but said that i can get about 50/60 but he said he cant do that ? as it could make my line unstable? and it would pull my speed down again to 40 but i cant see why i cant get them speeds but i post a wholesale pic so you can see my sppeds i could get

Ah looks like its because your handback threshold is below 40mbps so Sky will have put you in the lower speed bracket

@loverboi it is Sky's policy to provision customers whose lines have handback speeds under 40Mb/s onto the 40/10 Openreach product. This has been queried before but customers are not given the option of the 80/20 product even if in ideal circumstances their lines could achieve speeds on 40Mb/s down and 10Mb/s up. Other isps may have different policies. In practice the difference between 40Mb/s and 50Mb/s is going to be marginal.

@loverboi the sync speed of the hub is determined by its length and quality which is simply down to the laws of physics . A 40Mb/s sync will only give a speed test around 37Mb/s as you lose 8% to network overheads again a simple fact based on how networking works. So nobody is taking you for a fool.

@loverboi the laws of physics are against you there as line speed is a function of line length to the cabinet. Once you area has a full fibre connection thst disapears as fibre lines are far less prone to ssues with length but until then it is something you have to live with unless you move.

Your not. Anyone who is on a 40/10 wouldn't actually get 40mbps on a speedtest, its just not how it works. Same for anyone who is on 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80mbps etc. You will lose about 10% of the speed. This is the same for any ISP.
