ONT LAN light flickering

Openreach installed yesterday an ONT unit for full fibre. I have notice the LAN light keeps flickering, is this normal?

Also, the cable from the ONT to the router is the old thin grey one not black with yellow ends as described in the instructions, does this matter?

The router does have all 4 lights on.

I hope someone can answer my two questions.

@Hetty03 the LAN light flickering entirely normal it just indicates data is flowing. The cable from the ONT to thecrouter is justcaxstandard cat5e Ethernet cable the colour is unimportant.

It shouldn't be a flat cable with white ends though. Ethernet cable is typically round with transparent ends that should show eight wire traces inside.

It's definitely grey with writing on saying 'E255.388 ?J AWM 2835 26AWG 60°C 30V ETL VERIFIED TIA/EIA 568B.2 UTP CAT.5E AMJ'
