Hello,

I'm looking for a bit of advice on this forum......

I have an ongoing issue with Wi-Fi which impacts apps that are sensitive to latency and jitter, like MS Teams. I have used a Wi-Fi analyser which confirms that the Wi-Fi channels I'm restricted to are very busy.

To get round this, I have had some Ethernet cabling installed so our work laptops are using Ethernet but we are still having some issues. Ethernet is better than Wi-Fi but it's still an issue.

One thing I have noticed is the upload latency appears high across a number of speed test tools. The below is a typical speed test result when connected via wifi.

The upload latency looks high to me. When connected via Ethernet to the router, it does not improve that much. Is this something I should be concerned about?

My concern is that there is an external issue which is impacting my broadband connection. Here is a snapshot of a 24 hour external ping to my router

The problems date back to a switch to Sky fibre Ultra Fast, we've had intermittent problems since the switch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Our work call performance was better via teams on our previous Superfast connection using Wi-Fi than they are now even though we are using Ethernet for working. Router stats.....

Your connection looks fine to me. The speedtest result shows you are getting the correct download & upload speeds, your latency is 7ms and your jitter is 2 which is all within spec. The upload latency is going to be high because this is measuring your latency while under load, without a QoS router this is always going to be a high number because the router is not prioritising any traffic. However all this isnt a problem unless someone on your network is downloading or uploading at your maximum bandwidth speed.
