The hole should be sealed with a plastic fitment making it weather and bug proof one half goes into the inside hole the other from the outside.

My Sky fibre is due to be installed and activated in a few days. Its a 2 stage install. Openreach already visited a couple days ago to feed the optical fibre cable from their street connection point to a grey CST box on the outside of my home. That was stage 1.

Stage 2 says that a "Sky engineer" will visit to fit the internal ONT, which I assume will mean their engineer will do the drilling from inside my home to outside near the CST and feed the fibre cable to connect the CST to the ONT.

Is this Sky's own people or is it just going to be Openreach again?

Do they seal the holes so that dirt, water and bugs don't get in?

It's CSP (Customer Service Point / Customer Splice Point)

The task also involves fusion-splicing an optical pigtail: the CSP protects the joint.

In addition to the hole sleeve which @Chrisee mentioned, each end gets a cap.

I thought it was a Customer Service Terminal. I stand corrected

But ig the exact terminology doesn't matter. You understand what it is

Anyway, I got a text this morning and it starts with "Hi, it's Openreach on behalf of Sky" so I assume it won't be a Sky engineer. Was just concerned about the sealing because I've seen some installs where the fibre just comes through a poorly drilled hole without that white cap on it. I'll ask the engineer on the day.

Thanks. @Chrisee thank you too
