I'd also observe that the Q Hub was due to become obsolete by the end of next year (2025) as it can't provide Sky Talk Internet Calls but the BT Wholesale/Openreach target for PSTN switch-off has just been postponed for another 25 months past then.

So i had my sky broadband hub upgraded a while back as I still had one of the old bulky ones. since then my WiFi signal to both of our iPhones has been so poor. It's usually solved by flicking the WiFi on and off on our phones but it's getting a bit tedious now. Upon checking my service on sky app it says there's a problem and my wifi signal is ok but could be better ? New hub is in the exact same spot as the old one, nothing has changed, so I'm trying to understand why I have the issues now and not before ? Can anyone shed some light on this before I waste hours on trying to phone sky ?

That phenomenon has been noted repeatedly since the Q Hub was released in 2016: the Q model isn't a particularly good shape for WiFi (it was apparently chosen for brand recognition purposes rather than being based on actual physics) and the older 2.4Ghz-only of the Sky Hub is better at penetrating building fabric than the 5Ghz band on Q.

@Dominika+Szymczak wrote:

Will wifi extender/booster help ?

Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of 'Broadband Boost' and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell them except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Inevitably some have leaked onto a certain auction site, but Sky won't offer support with using these.

Confusingly the 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above.
