Really poor connection in different rooms

Hello

I had a new broadband installed recently,

the connection is really slow and really poor. My daughter cannot get anything to work in her bedroom, my sons PlayStation connection isn't strong and won't connect. The sky booster box will not connect.

overall it is very poor for a new set up

We are having the same problem with my sons PS4, he is not thanking me for moving to sky?!

@Kbrown80 & @Clairep79 although Sky advertise Wall-to-wall wifi you will find thst promise is only valid if you buy one of their add on packages either Broadband Boost which costs an. extra £5 per month and can give you a simple booster to extend wifi to a distant area if your wifi speeds are below 3Mb/s in a room.

There is a second and more useful package called Wifi Max which gives you a newer hub and up to 3 extender pods if they are required where the Wifi soeed guarantee is either 10Mb/s rsingbto 25Mb/s for customers buying an Ultrafast service.This also gets you a broadband engineer out to advise you if you need more than 1 pod.

However you can do what loads of people do which is to buy your own wifi kit which works out cheaper in the kong run. What you need depends on the service you buy from Sky and the layout and type of construction of your home so one size doesn't fit all. However as a guide my own system cost under £100 and givesca minimum 200Mb/s in every room in a 3 level home where the Sky hub alone failed to reach some rooms at all.
