@minguk there is no modem mode on any Sky hub. The only way to avoid a Double NAT and still have the Unifi in router mode would be to buy a third party VDSL modem or a cheap TP-Link Modem router which does have a bridge mode.

I'm planning to upgrade to fiber in the near future. Is sky still providing a interagated modem/router or separate devices ?

@minguk with full fibre you get a standard SR203 hub which you may have already but instead of connecting to a phone socket the hub connects by ethernet to the Openreach ONT box which is fitted. Tge midem stage in the hub is bypassed.

You can connect a third party router in place of the Sky hub assuming it supports DHCPv4 Option 61 although DHCPv6 PD works on most lines. You lose the use of the Sky voice line if you dont use the Sky hub.

Can I request Sky when I upgrade to fiber broadband using ethernet direct connection to my router instead of via a modem port ? (I don't need a phone line).

@mingukThat is basically what happens. They install the ONT and you run ethernet from that to one of the ethernet ports on the back of the SR203. You no longer use the "modem" RJ 11 port. If you dont want or care about a landline then you dont need to use the sky router provided it meets the criteria mentioned above. Sky are probably the wrost ISP for wanting to use your own kit but you end up paying more by splitting your TV and BB services between suppliers.

Is it mean that when I switch to fiber network they will install a ONT socket with the ethernet connect to the SR203 (normal case). If I don't want to use SR203 I can direct connect to my own router (e.g. UDR)

am I understand correctly? than !
