Sky wifi router joins neighbours network.

Hi,

We have an intermittent issue where, for no apparent reason, my Sky router takes on the identity of my neighbours?

From logging into the router from a wired connection I can see it has their name and their devices that are connected to it!

Each time I have to factory reset my router and redo the previous settings.

Any idea what is causing it?

Do you use any Powerline networking adapters in the property?

One rare but known phenomenon is that where adjacent units both have Powerline set up without paired encryption the two networks can effectively merge through data leakage past the meters: that would mean you are actually seeing their router rather than yours.

No, but it means that when you type in the IP address there's a chance you land on their router rather than your own.
