BTOpenreach have now increased speeds up to 1800mbps if you're address supports full fibre FTTP. Many other providers now allow speeds up to 1800mbps, but Sky does not? When will this be available for customers who can support this?

@Anonymous

Both current Sky Hub models for FTTP have gigabit ethernet WAN ports, so that would be an immediate obstacle. Given Sky only recently released the Max Hub, it seems very unlikely they'd want to go through another development and manufacturing process for a unit with a 2.5Gbs chipset which would only be required by a tiny percentage of subscribers.

Frankly speeds in excess of current Ultrafast bands are vanity projects which are irrelevant to actual internet use in the vast majority of households: for a start there are almost no individual client devices capable of receiving such bandwidth, let alone actually using it, and total consumption from all devices is very unlikely to saturate even a gigabit pipe.
