Getting wifi in an outbuilding with foil insulation.

I have an old wooden building that is insulated with bubble wrap foil insulation, which is stopping the wifi signal coming through for my mobile phone and making the Sky BB connection very difficult.

I have tried to run an inthenet cable from my broadband router into the building and connect to a second router but whilst this has improved the connection, its still not great.

Trying to use as a gym and need internet to run aps such as Zwift etc where I would need a minimum of 3 mb download, but I'm getting around 0.5 / 3.

Any help would be great, maybe it was the cheap ethernet cable that is 50m long thats the problem or would I need to a better router inside.

I'm not to technical so please if answering, keep this in mind.

Couple of points to consider:

50 metres is fine for 'real' (pure copper) Cat5e ethernet, but potentially not for cheap CCA (copper-clad aluminium) cable.

A second router isn't appropriate hardware unless it's capable of being put in Access Point mode (and this has been done).
