Just tried to call Sky help for MER log in details as need to desperatly replace the sky hub, as sky hub vs victorian walls = no wifi.

I want to get TP Link DECO system that has powerline as well as wifi and also has outdoor booster. (we are running google nest pro right now just plugged into the sky hub and even with 1 router and 4 satellites we still have major black spots and drop outs)

To use the TP link system properly, however need MER log in details. Sky help told me this wasnt allowed to be shared and that i should only use their kit.

I've seen on here posts with details which seem too simplistic to be true. Don't want to drop £££ on new modem and routers and still not be able to use them. Any pointers?

The details given in forum posts are correct: username and passwords aren't unique and just have to fit the necessary format. Given they only work where Sky is the ISP, there's no need for actual security.
