Upgrading to FTTP 500mbs

Good afternoon,

I am a long time sky user (10 years) and my contract is up in 13 days,so i decided to upgrade my package from FTTC to FTTP so going from 50mbs to 500mbs.

I tried to get a discount/cheaper deal over the phone but i couldn't understand the customer rep (i am hard of hearing) so ended up ordering the upgrade through the sky app so wasn't really able to get any questions answered like i would over the phone.

Today i recieved a package with just a LAN cable in it and leaflet sized instructions but no sky hub.

my question is.i was under the impression that you get a new modern router with this service,the sky max hub is it? is that correct

I already had the sky max wifi hub, as I have a sky glass tv

Its the black sky broadband hub in the middle of that link you sent.

@ronson12 The Sky broadband hub can be used for both FTTC & FTTP. As the only thing that is needed to change over is the use of the WAN port which is port 4 on the router from using the rj-11 dsl cable.

The router you have will work just fine, I had the very same when moving from one technology to the other without any issue.

The sky broadband hub is the standard router for fttp unkess you took out the sky max subscription

The ethernet lan cable or conversion kit will plug from the ethernet port on the fibre optic ont modem which will usualy be installed on the day of activation to lan 4 on the broadband hub
