topic Poor broadband, films etc only download a few seconds at a time in Broadband

Up until a week ago my broadband was fine, at any hour of the day it was possible to watch films on Netflix, Prime etc with no problems. Now from mid afternoon until late at night it is pretty much impossible to watch for more that a few seconds before getting a time out, then a few seconds more then time out, sometimes a permanent time out. Speed tests say service is ok but clearly not. Any suggestions, ideas?
