That particular cable is RJ11 to BT Jack (431A), sometimes referred to as an ADSL modem cable (but note RJ11 at both ends is often sold by the same name)

It's incredibly short and I'd like to buy a longer one so that my hub can be placed in the middle of my flat rather than the isolated location where the wall socket is

That one is an rj11 to standard bt phone jack for a telephone

If you want to move the hub you need a rj11 to rj 11 dsl cable

Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering if this cable would be alright? It doesn't look ex actly like the one I posted so I'm wondering if there's something different I need to do?

If you are on a superfast fttc connection that would be the correct one
