As you reported this to Sky and an engineer from Openreach has been booked this will be because after Sky ran a test on your line a fault has been found somewhere outside of your property so they should be sent to the location of the fault to fix it and this should happen within 3-5 working days. Sadly this can't be speeded up so you starting working tomorrow doesn't play any part in this.

Hi I can't get my WiFi to work all day, we just get the orange searching light on the router. I've reported it and an engineer is coming from open reach but it says it could be days and I start work at 8am tomorrow. any ideas other than thethering (I don't have much data and I've only ever lost broadband for an hour or so)
