I've been researching the threads thoroughly and have picked up a lot of info so thanks for all the usual contributors !.

I am looking to replace my Sky hub, I'm on Ultrafast FTTP , I realise I'm going to need an ASUS to totally replace it , I want a tri band Wi-Fi 6 , that I can then add mesh nodes onto.

my question is , would this be suitable ?

https://amzn.eu/d/9aRuEj0

or does anyone have any personal recommendations for another one that will work?

I currently get around 450mps , so speed is ok ish , I'm looking to maybe boost speed but I want to increase the range to my garage conversion where its dead.

This my set up into the router if that helps.

@oomanpooch the Asus RT-AXE7800 should work with your Sky service. However remember extending wifi coverage to your extension may well still not work that well. Wifi signals especially the high frequency signals that these routers use to communicate with satellite units do not pass through external walls at all well.

Running a simple ethernet cable from the router's location to the conversion and installing a wifi access point there would definitely work.

Thanks for the reply👍 , however , running an Ethernet cable to there is out of the question.

It has to be a mesh system to maximise the WiFi signal .
