With ethernet connections the network name is normally not important but if it bugs you reset the network connections on the devices concerned.

Just had sky fibre installed. My new sky router appears named as my old router on ethernet connection. The router has the new sky hub id for wi fi and I can connect with the new, correct wi fi password. But my laptop and desktop computers see the old Talk Talk modem name when connected via ethernet.I have disconnected everything and restarted, still the same issue.I have reset the hub, still the same issue. The online sky broadband settings state correct new router name SSID.

I need the correct router name to use a tp link extender for upstairs wi fi,that I used with TalkTalk.Without the correct router name the extender will not provide a wi fi hotspot.

I have used advised windows commands including netsh winsock reset,no name change.

I have unplugged and reset everything including the tp link extender over the last day since installation, nothing has changed the new router being seen as the old router name

How do I get my two windows computers, laptop and desktop to see the router correctly named?
